Having 4 children, who attend 4 different schools, means my beauty and makeup routine needs to be simplified.
For busy moms juggling countless responsibilities, simplifying the makeup routine becomes essential in reclaiming precious time without compromising on looking and feeling put together. And let me tell you, the days I don’t wear makeup, those are the days I see everyone I know. That’s how it always works!
Streamlining the process with versatile products that multitask is key. From the best concealer to hide those tired eyes, to the top compact powder that provides full coverage in seconds. I will also give you a drug store secret setting powder that rivals those top brands and a dual purpose cheek and lip stain to give you a pop of color. I’ll also tell you about one of the finest mascara products I have ever used and the absolute greatest makeup setting spray.
Up first: Concealer and Full Coverage Powder
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
If you are not a fan of the Tarte Shape Tap, this alternative is worth the switch. I struggled trying to make the shape tap work for me and never felt that it did. This product has been a game changer for those dark circles! Between the curfew of my oldest and my youngest still crying out for me to cover him up, it seems I am awake quite a bit most nights. I can use this in the morning and not look like death warmed over, which is always the goal!
Laura Geller New York Baked Blurring + Setting powder
This compact powder has full coverage and is easy and fast to apply. I love how I can apply this and look like I put foundation on. It gives me the coverage I need without the time consuming of actual foundation. Plus it’s lightweight, which is perfect in the summer when I wear less makeup and don’t want to feel like my skin is heavy with product!
Setting Powders
I have two favorites of this product. One high end and one drug store. Both are equal in my opinion. The high end one, I used for my wedding makeup. The drug store one, I still use daily. I don’t want my daily makeup to cost an arm and a leg. But for special events, I do pull out the high end setting powder.
Drug store find:
Maybelline Fit Me Loose Setting Powder
High End;
Makeup Forever HD High Definition Microfinish Powder
As you can see, the drug store find is about 1/3 of the cost. Again, both have performed equally for me, which is why I have them on my list. Also, I don’t generally like to go into makeup stores. It makes me feel overwhelmed when they start asking me questions. I don’t know why that is!
Cheek and Lip Stain
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm
I have been a Clinique fan for over two decades. There is something about this brand that makes me think it is a staple in the beauty industry for a reason! The chubby stick is the perfect dual use product. A quick swipe on the cheeks and lips can add a pop of color that can really wake your face up. It’s amazing how much color in the cheeks can add!
Mascara
Huda Beauty Legit Lashes
This two in one mascara has been a staple for me for over 3 years! Sometimes I just use the curl and lift side. Sometimes just the volume side. And sometimes both! I feel like the dual sides gives me more bang for my buck and more options with my mascara. Sometimes I just need a quick swipe and sometimes I have time for more.
I have tried several mascaras over the years and most of them would make my eyelashes fall out. I am not joking! They felt heavy and clumpy. After years of use, I continue to buy this brand and I feel like my eyelashes are better than ever!
Setting Spray
Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Super Setter Long Lasting Makeup Spray Face Primer
This spray is amazing! I was influenced to buy it and I haven’t looked back since. (Not all my influenced purchases have gone this well!) It sets better than Urban Decay. It has a fine mist, which feels light when applied and it lasts all day. Even if I just wear concealer and powder, this spray will set it for the day. It’s been a multiple purchase item for me.
Bonus -Long Lasting Lips!
Covergirl Outlast All-Day Lip Color
Covergirl has been around forever! And so has this lip stain! I use the color silvered grape, which ends up being a cool nude for me. And I also use the gloss that comes with, or I have even used my favorite lip balm. Either way, the color lasts a full 12 hours for me, even through eating or drinking.
By incorporating versatile and time-saving products into your regimen, I hope you discover newfound ease and efficiency in your daily makeup application.
